Honduras Day # 9
August 10, 2012
Our verse for today came from Matthew 25:31-40 and the parable of the wheat and the tares, where the Lord praises the good servants who met the needs of people who were thirsty, hungry, alone, unclothed, imprisoned, and sick, saying “what you have done to the least of my people on earth, you have also done for me.” As for our team, we were blessed to be able to serve likewise this past week. Glenn also read from Romans 12:10-12 where we are exhorted to love and serve one another and God’s people, just as we have done this week. The challenge will be to continue this attitude as we return to home and our normal routines.
We packed the bus with all of our suitcases, and spent much of the day standing in lines (check in, security checks, customs, and luggage claim), saying good-bye to some of our team members who returned to their homes in Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles. The largest group of us arrived back In Buffalo before midnight, safe and sound.
Thank you to all who have followed our daily adventures, and for those who supported team members. We also thank all of you who donated supplies (tooth brushes, tooth paste, medications, materials, toys and money). We had a great week of service and ministry, with a great group of people you can all be proud of.
